Congregational
Survey - Important Message and Task
If
you are a member or friend of the church we need your help as we
search for a new pastor. Part of the search process involves us creating
a Church Profile. The Church Profile will serve as a description
for pastors "open to a call" to be paired with
us as potential candidates. A big part of the Church Profile includes
a
description of the congregation. Not just members, but all of the
folks who call Scandia Covenant Church their church.
Paper copies of the survey will be available in the narthex, but
we would prefer
that this be done online using the following link : http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2WHHDMY The
password is lighthouse2010. It should only take
about 15-20 minutes to complete. It asks questions about your preferences
for worship,
what qualities you would like to see in the next pastor, how you
view the church family, and some demographics like what sector you
work in, etc. These data will all be summarized and included in our
profile to tell potential pastors about who we are. We ask for your
name on the forms, only to keep track of who has done the survey.
Names will not be kept with responses. It is not our intent to use
these data against any views or preferences anyone might have. We
want an accurate description of our church and its preferences.
Please do this for your church. The survey will run until March
28, 2010.

that we go to one worship service at 11:00 AM, especially during the
interim period. This will be revisited after that time. It will begin
Sunday February 28th. Sunday School will continue to be offered for
all ages from 9:45 to 10:45 each Sunday. We appreciate everyone's support
on this and apologize for any inconveniences this may cause our early
service friends.

be reading and discussing selective readings from the Daily Bread devotional.

at Camp Mission Meadows
Last year ten men from Scandia participated in the Men's Winter Retreat
at Camp Mission Meadows. We had a great time together and really
grew deeply in our relationship with God and each other. Mission
Meadows is hoping the men of SCC will return this year together,
and invite others to come. The retreat is March 5-7. For more information,
please speak to Mike Soderberg or Steve Colvin. Brochures and registration
forms for the retreat can be found in the church entrance way.
Feedback from last year's retreat:
"
Pastor James, first of all thank you for being persistent in getting
me to go to the men's retreat. On the retreat itself it was very
rewarding and uplifting. The worship and breakout sessions were very
meaningful and helpful in my spiritual growth. The speaker, Dick
Lucco, did an excellent job with humor and seriousness, and was very
easy to follow. The music and singing was another important part
of the retreat. The food was excellent. No one went away hungry.
The cabin was a highlight also. Six men you know before the retreat
and know even better now. A great bunch of guys. We all left the
seat up and didn't get in trouble, but that's all I can say about
the cabin. Thank you Lord for a great needed retreat." -

A New Study is About to Begin – Jesus: Seeing Him More Clearly.
Jesus is someone you need to know. Teacher. Physician. Servant. Shepherd.
King. Jesus filled each of these roles in His walk on earth--revealing
in them all a richly accessible identification with our humanity in
His role as a Man. In this study, you'll explore these roles one by
one to arrive at a better understanding of the character and person
of Christ. You'll discover the opportunities that await you every day
to have an impact for Jesus. But best of all, you'll grow closer to
Him than ever before. This adult small group study will kick off during
the Sunday School hour on Feb. 7th. Al Chase: Facilitator.
